I'm over in Barcelona at the moment, sitting in a darkened conference centre while the sun shines outside. That's because Nokia's just unveiled its first phone with integrated digital TV. The N92 is a neat-looking mobile with a screen that twists and flips open to look like a mini portable DVD player. The phone will eventually be able to receive up to fifty TV channels, but while this is all very exciting, the DVB-H TV service (as the digital TV is called) won't actually be here until some time in 2007. The good news is that when it does arrive, it will be a sight better than the current TV on mobile services.
The N92 also has some other top notch features, including smartphone facilties (diary management and all that business), Wi-Fi for wireless web browsing and email pick up, and music playback. The handset can also record TV programmes on to an SD card and deliver an on-screen electronic programme guide. Plus, there's going to be numerous interactive facilities so you'll be able to cast votes on the X-Factor wherever you are. The N92 will be here Q2 of 2006.
