Weather-predicting clothes peg

TrackBacks (2)

Clothes_peg_2Two of the questions in the "Are You a Pikey" quiz are: "do you ever leave your clothes out on the line over night/in the rain?" and "do you live in Penge". Since I live a stone's throw away from Penge, I'm always careful to take my laundered items in off the line every night and whenever there's a hint of a shower. This being the UK, however, you never know when rain is going to strike next, which is why some kind soul at the Brunel University has come up with an intelligent clothes peg that will predict the weather. If rain is on its way, the peg locks shut stopping you from hanging out your clothes. Each peg has two symbols on it - clear and rain - so you can see when rain is imminent and gather your smalls in before the downpour. It's only a prototype at the moment, but with such a huge potential market in the UK (those of us trying to prove we're not pikeys) it's bound to reach the stores eventually.
