Haier Mobiles has introduced a new model to their line of Pen Phones - the P7. Not actually a phone that can also be used as a pen (although that would be useful), this tri-band mobile is sized and shaped to resemble a pen, and can even be clipped to your breast pocket/pocket protector just like your favorite fancy writing implement.
Aside from its unusual look, the P7 also offers a TFT colour screen, VGA camera, messaging, a dictaphone and the standard mobile goodies one has come to expect (games, polyphonic ringtones, WAP 2.0, etc..). Menus are accesssed through the mobile's joystick and directional pad.
By and large, this phone is more about stylishly standing out from the other mobiles than it is about features - and there it certainly succeeds. It is a cool looking phone; very business-exec-meets-space-captain. However, as real pens have a reputation for vanishing into some mysterious black hole anytime I turn my head- I'd be a bit nervous carrying around a pen phone. It might get ideas about walking away as well. - [Star C. Foster]
The Haier P7 was included in the presenter gift bags at the last Golden Globe awards, and is now available to we mere mortals from Haiermobiles.com
