Samsung E530

Somehow this managed to completely pass me by - until I saw a poster ad for it the other day. So not quite up to the minute news, but since it's only just going on sale now, I'm not totally obsolete just yet. This pinky/pastelly number has just shown up at my place (Samsung sent it - I don't just attract girl gadgets like a big pink human magnet) and it's looking pretty good. I haven't had a good play with it yet - just enough to learn how to switch off every single one of the annoying jangly musical numbers that Far Eastern phone manufacturers insist on adding to every last movement you make on the handset - but aside from 2 minor aesthetic disappointments (the blue text on the outer screen jars with the pink casing and they put a picture of Lassie as my wallpaper *tsk*), I think it's fairly safe to say that this is as good as Samsung's other fashion handsets.

The megapixel camera and flash are nice additions, as are the high res screen, MP3 Player and video recording. It's just a shame that Samsung felt the need to patronise its intended audience by including the following "Lifestyle" applications: Fragrance Type, Biorhythm, Height/Weight ratio, Calories Counter, Pink Schedule (ie. Blob watch so you can record your every period - however did we manage before?) and Shopping list.
