Delia Smith* may have made a living teaching a nation how to cook eggs, but the fact is, any idiot armed with a timer and a pan of boiling water can make a soft-boiled egg... in theory at least. Thing is, just at the crucial moment something shiny always catches my eye, or my mind totters off to ponder higher matters, or I panic and realise I haven't put the toast in yet. Which is how I would manage to justify the purchase of this Automatic Egg Cooker. For not only is it called Henrietta and shaped like a motherly mother hen, it will also boil up to 7 eggs or poach up to 4. Just one minor quibble though: what kind of sicko designs a cooker for eggs (available in half-dozen and dozen packs) for seven eggs?
