Remember how we all ripped up our 80s carpets in the 90s and put in attractive wood floors and less attractive wood laminate? All fine and super until we discovered that the fuzz of our daily lives floats merrily about the surface of the floor with no pile to hide under. So not only do you have to mop all the grime off your floor, first you have to vacuum up all the skin cells and hair that are billowing like tumbleweed round your trendy, modern abode. Well, not any more you lucky people. iRobot has done us all a favour and created the Scooba, a mopping robot that cleans, scrubs and sucks up all the human remains and unsightly stains from your luxurious pad, leaving you with freshly wiped floors that are completely dry. There's a sneaky peek video on the site here. Sounds like it's out in the US first "in time for the holidays" (which means nothing to me since I'm not actually at school anymore. In fact I try to blank out the fact that thousands of children will soon be free to run the streets by day).
