Solar plants
In theory, plants are low-maintenance, but somehow my living room has begun to look like a botanical slaughterhouse. I much prefer the Solar Plant, which requires only sunlight in order to bloom with light every night.
Does it look like a real plant? Okay, not at all, but this swizzle stick-like solar powered lamp doesn't require cords, batteries, or most importantly, daily watering. Bonus: your alien visitors will feel welcome in your home.
